Hi guys, I love sapphires and have gotten myself a bracelet with 10 sapphires and a ring. recently, I decided to trade them in a jeweller shop in exchange for some diamong bracelet and was told no one in Singapore takes in these sapphires. Is that true? Do you know of anybody who does? My bracelet costs me S$1800 and I would like to get a good value out of it. Most shops here only trade the white gold and the small diamonds in it but wont accept my sapphires. I felt cheated as no one from Goldheart(the shop I purchase the bracelet from) told me about this during my purchase. It is a great deal of my savings, that's why I'm quite disappointed. |

Hi Memoreez, The fact that you bought from a common retail chain speaks all. You can never get a "good" value for resale at commercial places. 1) Gold price at retail is much higher 2) You pay premium for "workmanship", "service fees" 3) Even if you buy diamonds from them you can't get a "good" resale price. Take it to the pawn shop, I'm sure they will take-in. But at what value? I'm not sure. Try those small jewellry workshops at Chinatown or Lucky Plaza. I think you should not blame Goldheart, I think most retailer will not highlight/guarantee to buyers of resale potentials, except for those "branded" diamonds.
