My sweetness and I selected my 40th present at Infiity with Paul on Saturday. After seriously thinking of two of his beautiful, ideal cut rounds for 1.50 tcw earrings (the .70s were just perfect for studs), we fell for one of his new Princesses because they just seemed to be even rarer and more special. So I'm the very lucky, semi-owner (we're to pay late August), of a 1.40 Princess, VVS2/J. Paul is being ultra kind and putting it to one side for us. I'm totally delighted and I'm going to love being 40!!!! For those interested, the dimensions were 6x6mm which is exactly the same as my 'modern' asscher. But the Princess looked waaay bigger. As Lieve said, it's the corners, somehow makes the stone more 'spready'. This may be of interest to someone who has the same considerations about spread (don't we all). I have an OEC 1.20, an asscher 1.17 and now this Princess, 1.40. ![]() The asscher looks smaller than the other two. The round looks to be about the same size as the Princess which really 'seeeems' to be more like 8mm. It isn't, there are no miracles, but it really 'looked' around 2mm bigger than the asscher. The asscher is modest and elegant, the Princess looks like a honker. Both 6x6mm. Optical illusions, very odd. I'll post pics when I can, but that will be in a while. Maybe someone can get there first? I found the comparative shots of rounds and Princesses somewhere in this forum, very useful/interesting but I can't remember which thread I found them on, sorry. All this to say.... don't think that the cut out bit of paper that is exactly the same mm spread as the stone you're thinking of, that you've stuck on your finger, will give you a true idea of how the dimensions will look. It could well be that you're in for a nice surprise. ![]() This is just the best way to go into the start a new week! Now the setting saga!!!!!! and I'm starting to fall in love with tensions settings, which could be imposs to do here.http://www.absolutetitanium.com/k-06.html I love that new texture they have found! Have a great week one and all and very best of luck to those doing exams(((((biiig hug)))))) Abi |

Congratulations to you! You are doubly lucky that you were able to visit with Paul and Lieve in Antwerp even before the dealers for these lovely stones get to see them. You will indeed treasure this stone and be able to tell your decendants that you got one of the very first AGS 0 cut grade princess cuts in the world. There are so very few of them out there yet, but someday it will be very hard to sell the poorly cut "stuff" that we see so much of today. Wink Wink Jones |

thanks for the kind words guys - we're delighted. We even get one of those fab AGS reports with the totally new cut, RB side/princess top!!!! Strm - I know tell me about it - it was my least fave cut (hmmmm...next to hearts - just imho). Try and get a hold of one if you've time/inclination. It's not the same animal and so far, the shots aren't doing it justice. Wink.... everyone seems to be hoping you'll be at Las Vegas!! Have a successful and fun week. That goes to all, A

You were referenced fondly in the 'Who's going to Vegas' thread a little further down this forum, by Señor JohnQ. Have a good time, sounds fun. Hard work, but fun. A
