I like the second one better, it is classic and lovely. The other is a bit too wide looking and strikes me as somewhat trendy.

If she likes pave and lots of "bling" then the first one is the obvious choice.

If she likes lots of sparkle, but clean lines, then the second one takes the prize. I would like to add that the second one with its channel setting will not snag her finest silks or knits, while the myriad of tiny tips on the pave can sometimes snag fine silks.

Personally, I like them both. However, I agree with what the previous poster said in that if she likes timeless, classic settings then I would choose the second one over the first one.

Better yet...why don't you purchase them both, give her the option of the one she wants and then give me the other lol

hehe...that's a good option.  Of course a better option would be to give the other one to me

In choosing between those 2 settings, I too would vote for the second one.  I think the lines are clean and lovely and the side profile is really nice.

But your low color OMC will look stunning in the first ring! The bright white of the pave in platinum may contrast slightly with your lower color center, but the contrast will enhance the center. I have put stones as low as M/N into high white pave mountings with absolutely beautiful results.

110% the second one.

I personally only like pave when it's a single row of thin pave like a thin pave band. I don't like chunky bands with pave. Hence why I don't like #1.

I just think #2 is more elegant and classic and the diamonds on the band match the style of the ring more ...

But as always, what SHE will like best matters the most, so it just needs to be perfect for her.

Have you read any of the pave threads? I asked awhile ago about the durabilty and people posted back that they did lose stones out of their bands, which is why I am now only looking at prong or channel set. Is she hard on her jewlery? What kind of w-band do you think she would like better....I still like 2 the best.

Sorry for the hijack.....Oh, Wink, you give me such hope!!!!!! Mine is an M, but I think it faces up a little whiter...maybe I don't have to rule out the platinum pave vatche after all. Thanks for the input!

I too like them both, especially the little accent in the gallery of the second, BUT overall, I would probably choose the first for myself.  I like pave and also tend to wear wide rings better than thin.

Some think pave is "trendy," but I think the opposite.  I purchased a wide pave wedding band in 1993, and it looks as in-style today as it did then.  I've never had any problems with the stones popping out either (I even use the ultrasonic thinking if a stone falls out, I'd rather it bein the cleaner than somewhere else).  I do take care of my rings though and do not wear them 24/7.  I take them off when I'm in the house and put them on just before going out.  With the quality of Vache, I don't think the durability is a big issue.

Definitely the second one.

I prefer only one row of pave personally.

Personally,  I like the second one better.   I, like Indecisive, only like pave if it's a single row.  I think the second one is more elegant.  Have you seen this vatche setting?  It's along the lines of the second  setting, but it's got the x prongs.  I love it .  If I wanted a princess cut it would be my top choice!

I really like it. It looks very similar to my setting except I have a single row of diamonds on each side of the shank. I like the second one a little better.

It's on vatche's website, but for some reason  it's only under "matching sets."

I vote for #2, but I am a channel setting lover!  Pave is too high maintenance for me, channel set stones are pretty much worry free.  Plus, I think that #2 looks more elegant and classic.

I LOVE #1!!! I personally got that one for my engagment a couple weeks ago, it looks so wonderful in person! I have got so many compliments on it on how it looks very modern but very classic at the same time. i'm kinda rough on it, i wore it out on the lake and every day (only when i'm sleeping is it off) It really is a very unique ring that she will love and get a TON of complements on! #2 looks like a lot of other rings out there. Oh, my pave is the round stone too. I hope this helps!

I am working on my setting right now so everything is complicated in my mind, so I like the basket on option #1, but I like the chanel set diamonds on option #2. You know your girlfriend better than anyone else so is she trendy and likes bling or is she more classic? What you know about her taste and style should give you an indication of the kind of ring she would like because even though they are similar they say totally different things. I'm an in the middle type of girl and would personally love either setting.

I know the setting posted by kerbear wasn't an option, but it's a combination of both classy & trendy and I would take it in a heartbeat!
