I have seen many a post decrying the B&M Robbins Brothers (though in the Philly/Delaware area)
but very few that deal with E.E. Robbins in the Seattle area (though I understand that they
are perhaps from the same family). Today Thomas Elliot (of Elliott gem labs) appraised my diamond to be and
I asked him if he recommended any local area jeweler's to set it- much to be surprise he recommended
EE Robbins-> which shocked me because I had gone to school in Baltimore and remember hearing
their cheesy commercials. He told me to ask for Brant, the manager when I went.

Now my mother is of a conspiracy theorist- what you're buying your diamond online, did you
pick out the appraiser- she thinks that everyone is in on the conspiracy and everyone has a piece
of pie at stake...

So slightly skeptical I was when I went to the EE Robbins stores-. Brant actually met me and he
was wearing a kind of hawaiian shirt- which is cool by me. He explained their policies and etc etc
- mostly cubic zirconias in the settings on the floor-> just to give an idea what they look like
- lifetime warranty with cleanings etc
- one price policy
- competitive pricing on loose diamonds

I explained to Brant that I already had a diamond in mind and was told that they would be able to
set it for me- to which he replied "we would be happy to!" He was very kind, and even offered to
search both their store and their network to see if they had any comparable diamonds if I had not
yet purchaed it (which I hadnt)-> I told him what I had found-> and he told me that that was an
excellent stone, likely very difficult to find and doubted that they had another comparble.

nontheless I was very impressed with my experience. he treated me very well for someone who
was likely only going to spend at most a thousand bucks with them. He was very professional
and a pleasure to deal with. i'm not sure how competitive the loose diamonds were but I would
recommend him as a good person to work with-> at least in a non pressured envirnoment. I do
play on having them set my diamond.

Has anyone else ever had any experience with them, either negative or positive.?

Chris

Hopefully I didnt get the wool pulled over my eyes...

I'm glad you've enjoyed working with E.E. Robbins. . .

This company really bugs me for some reason.  Their radio ads bash purchasing diamonds on the internet. . .they say it's okay to look for info online, but when it comes to purchasing you should buy in person.  This alone wouldn't bother me so much if their web site actually provided *real* info rather than only showing the bare-bones four Cs guidelines, which leaves me with the impression that they'd prefer their customers NOT to have any background knowledge before going into the store.

i have dealt with them in the past and it was not a great dealing...i first of all went in for a tacori ring and the salesman spoke me out of and into a coast ring big mistake ...i had the ring less than 3 months and a diamond fell out they repaired it a month later the same stone fell out ...they reoaired it 2 months later the center stone prong ( i think that is what they call it)had a crack in it i took it back and had them remove my stone and put a fake stone in and i sold the setting on craigslist...there customer service was awful blaming me for being tough on the ring....i will never return to the store ...i finally got my tacori from lt denny she is alittle shop near all the stadums downtown...she was great to deal with and the tacori ring was as advertised
hope this helps and it was not posted to late
