Hi everyone, this site is really a useful resource. Thanks to all who contribute. I've seen Dave Atlas's AGA chart for princess cut diamonds, however, I'm curious if there are 'ideal' crown and pavillion angles for princess cuts as well. I think I've seen somewhere that you want a crown angle on a princess cut of 31-33 degrees, however, I can't recall where I've seen this. Is it accurate? Thanks Shell

Princess Cuts and fancies are very difficult to gauge by the numbers. You need to see them; and if you're shopping on the Internet, you need some form of visual data to show you the diamonds light performance. The fact is there are various combinations of Crown/Pavilion/Table that will yield high light-performing Princess Cuts. The best tools we have found so far are the BrillianceScope and ImageScope which measure both light performance and light leakage. The numbers, thus far, are secondary.
