We live in Albany, CA (next to Berkeley) and we are hoping to find a large and beautiful protestant church for our ceremony. We know of the most popular ones in SF...you know, Grace Cathedral, Calvary Pres, etc...but I am hoping someone on PS will have a best kept secret! We plan on about 200 people attending the ceremonies and hope to find a church that we can take pictures both inside and outside of the church. We would love to find someplace in SF, Oakland or Berkeley. Thanks for any ideas! |

Well, I was only a baby when we moved away, but I was baptized at St. Clement's Episopal Church in Berkeley, and my parents really loved the parish. http://www.stclementsberkeley.org/ Good luck!!

churchwedding- I did a bunch of research on a lot of places near berkeley - some locations: First Congregational Church of Berkeley: http://www.fccb.org/index.php large beautiful sanctuary, brick outside, more traditional feel Berkeley PResbyterian: this church is across the street from FCC, has a semicircular pew setup. don't have contact info for them. not as picturesque, IMO. Northbrae Church (also in Berkeley): http://www.northbrae.org/weddinginfo.html more woodsy, interdenominational. also has adjoining building with large reception area and bridal dressing rooms. nicely kept grounds. Not huge, can seat 200 for sure. Unitarian Universalist Church: http://www.uucb.org/about/communityuse.html not protestant, per se, but enormous sanctuary with beautiful view from patio, and nice atrium, huge ballroom. Lake Merritt United Methodist: http://www.herecomestheguide.com/sites/detail.htm?site_id=1672 I have pics of all these places except the last, please PM me if you want more info
