Any chance to see it ? There is nothing bad about those stats, but they go about half way describing the looks of this stone. They do not say anything about brilliance... Does it matter ? Ana "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen." [Souren Melikian] |

I will be able to see it tomorrow. How can i check the brilliance of the diamond without seeing it? Is it possible that the stone with almost ideal proportions will not be brilliant ?

Date: 5/20/2005 11:37:48 AM Author: nicpon Is it possible that the stone with almost ideal proportions will not be brilliant ? I can't tell what "ideal proportions" mean for a princess cut... if by AGA standards those do not pretend to guarantee brilliance and the new recipe by AGS needs allot more numbers. Each store has a different standard on top of this, and I can't begin guessing how all these compare. Checking brilliance for a distance might work according to the proponents of several tools meant just for that. Ever heard of "Ideal Scope" or "Brilliance Scope" ? Check under "Tools" on top of this page and at GoodOldGold.com for some explanation. It might help define what to look for in person as well. Well, I saw the diamond today at appraisal and it was so beautiful and brilliant that i made my decision. When i get it in my hands I will try to take a picture so you guys can see it but anyway I’m very satisfied. Now, I have four days to choose the setting and then "Da Day"
