Whiteflash just sent me information on a diamond I am looking at.

1.20 Radiant Cut (1.28:1)  6.85x5.37x3.73
E SI1
Pol: Good
Sym: Good
Cul: None
Flo: No
Price:  $5,444.00

Is this a good diamond?  I want a clean looking diamond that has a great cut.  Experts, please advise.  Thank you.

Looks very nice and "sounds" good by numbers as far as I can tell

If there were no pictures the pleed the cause of this guy, I might have looked twice at what that "very thick girdle" means. But it must be just a patch, since spread and brilliance are just fine.

Btw, is it this ?

I'm not sure if all the on-line vendors use the same database, but I found this one on WhiteFlash.com.

How can I be certain that this diamond has a lot of brilliance and fire?  Is there any way to tell from these pictures or do I just need to have the diamond in front of me?

The specs and images look very good! If you like the proportions, it seems like a solid choice. I've been radiant shopping for months, and nice stones are very difficult to find. (especially rectangular ones) Trust me - you can do far worse!

So far I'm hearing all great news.

My only concern is that I am looking at other diamonds in Boston and I don't whether this diamond will be better than the ones I see in Boston.  Do you think that the diamond displayed above is one of the best I can find?

By the way, I was looking for a rectangular radiant such as the one above.

WF has a return policy... if you do not like it, you do not have to keep it.

From the specs above, there doesn't seem to be much room for improvement. But what is "best" remains up to you to judge.

Radiants are difficult to judge by numbers. I had a few stones called-in to local shops that were dynamite on paper, but lukewarm in person. Can you have this one sent to a local appraiser where you can view it?

Finding a radiant that has the shape you want AND performs well is a great combo. Too long, too square, corners too slanted... it can be a nightmare!
