I'm going in for round 2 with my stylist for wedding hair. The last time my hair was "too perfect." I really want a half up-do style that is more like the celebrities where on the red carpets than how the teens where their hair to prom. In other words, soft curls lightly pinned up and not all perfect rather than looking like ever curl is perfect. My stylists is having a hard time doing this because most people want the really perfect, nice, uniform hair. Does anyone have any good half up-do styles that are more hollywood than prom?

Island Dreams, I know what you mean. Are there any stars in particular who've had good "red carpet hair" that you want to emulate? If I had a couple of names I'd love to help search....doing an image search on google w/ their name (or looking at the photo gallery on imdb.com) might help? I will see what i can find!

Thanks...these are closer. I'd want to combine pieces of several of these pictures! I'd say Sarah Jessica Parker or Eva Longoria might have done looks similar to what I'm thinking....my hair is wavy and I'd like big, bouncy, slightly messy curls...

This is how I am wearing my hair, it is also naturally curly and long....I don't think it's too "prom", I know what you mean about "prom" hair and I defianetly want to stay away from that look!!!!!

I have some half up dos in my Knot Bio. I was having the same problem. SO many of the hairstyles reminded me too much of prom days. Anyway, hope they help.

Yes, but I need my fiance to come home so I can download the pics from the camera to his laptop.....I am not allowed to download them to my work PC....MIS gets funny about that.....He is supposed to be home Thursday night..... I went last night to my colorists and added a bit more blonde to my now 6 color hair. I felt after the updo that the color needed a bit of a brighter punch...I'll try to take pictures with the new brighter highlights too and upload those as well.

I'm not sure yet on the color. It's just so different from what I am used to. My hair was dyed dark brown in March so going to multi-blonde/light brown tones is a big switch. My carpool person suddenly canceled this AM so I didn't get to do anything to my hair besides brush it while driving....
