We are wanting to find an all inclusive resort somewhere tropical, preferably mexico to get married at. We are a little worried about the all inclusive part. When they say food and beverages are included..are there limits? What exactly do you get in your experience?

It is GREAT!
I didn't get married at an all inclusive resort (obviously- because I am not even engaged yet), but my cousins and I had a girl's trip to Cancun for graduation. It was a BLAST! The resort we stayed at has 4 or 5 seperate resort locations in Cancun and you can eat, drink, swim, etc. at each of them as part of your package. This package included all meals, all drinks- including alcoholic beverages, and entertainment. We had a huge room and our airfair was included. I highly recommend it. You have nothing to worry about and can relax and make the most of your honeymoon.

There are similar locations in Cozumel that can include scuba diving packages. My mom & I got our certifications there and we went on a night dive with Octopus. It was so fun- if you like that kind of stuff.

If you do go to Cancun, I recommend eating out once at this really fun place called "Los Pericos" (you'll need to take a taxi, but it is a blast) they make INCREDIBLE stawberry pina colodas.

If you go to Cozumel, try "The Lobster House". Very beachy and fun at night.

Good luck!

We have stayed at all-inclusives 5 times (4 in Jamaica and 1 in Cancun)...they are the WAY TO GO!! You don't have to worry about tipping, or watching your money as 95% of your trip will be paid for before you ever leave!!! If you want to purchase Spa services or something like that, then that's extra (but always worth it!!).

Food, alcohol. non-alcoholic drinks, snorkeling, water sports, free resort SCUBA class (in Jamaica), some excursions might also be included as well...In Cancun at the Aventura Spa Palace, we had several off-resort excursions, like Chitzenizta (sp?) and in Jamaica, most Ocho Rios resorts include Dunn's River Falls. In Negril, we had a free catamaran "booze" cruise to watch the sunset and jump off the cliffs.

If you want to know more, feel free to PM me...

In Cancun we stayed in one of the Palace Resorts. When I was there they were building the 4th and now there are 6 of them. Beach Palace, Cancun Palace, Sun Palace, Moon Palace, Aventura Palace and Xpu-Ha Palace. We stayed in the Cancun Palace, but visiting the others.

The president of my company and his wife went with another couple and they stayed in the Cancun Palace too. They loved it.

I highly recommend it. It is almost like being on a cruise in the fact that you get the most for your money. I loved that everything was paid for before we got there. We went in '98, and everything including airfare was $400 a person for 5 days. Of course, it will be more expensive now, but still- what a bargain to have so much fun.

Palace Resorts has a website. you should check it out.

I highly recommend all-inclusives, especially Palace Resorts & Occidental Resorts.  Honestly, I'm not sure if we ended up getting our money's worth in food & alcohol, but it is so worth it to not have to worry about keeping track of money, tips, etc.  Last May we stayed at Moon Palace and had a great time.  We also visited Beach Palace in Cancun (great beach but not that impressed w/ the hotel itself, much smaller than Moon Palace) and Adventura Spa Palace (beautiful open air resort).  Moon Palace is HUGE... There are 10 restaurants (great food, I ate the best grouper I've ever had, hands down, at their Spanish restaurant), 2 enormous outdoor pools, I could go on...

I have stayed at a few lesser quality all-inclusives and while the food and drinks were not as good as Palace, I still enjoyed the convenience of the AI vacation.  If I could have convinced my FI to get married in Mexico, I would have done it in a heartbeat!!

I do prefer Cozumel & Playa del Carmen to Cancun ~ Palace has a new resort there (Cozumel).  But Moon Palace was far enough south of Cancun so we weren't in the middle of any the college kid craziness.  However, it is fairly isolated, about a $16 taxi ride into Cancun and $40 to Playa from Moon Palace... but the resort is so huge & there is so much to do that you don't actually need to go anywhere for entertainment purposes.  My FI & I went to Puerto Morales (between Cancun & Playa) for a couple of days to get our scuba certification & we took a day trip to Cozumel for some diving ~ but all of this could have been done closer to the resort as well.

Feel free to ask or PM any questions!!

Oh, forgot to mention that a friend of mine got married at Moon Palace a few years ago & it was wonderful.  In fact, that is the same couple we went with last year ~ they enjoyed it so much they preferred to go back to Moon Palace than any other resort.

Depending on the resort, usually all-inclusives will save you money if you eat and drink at the resort.  Except for Club Med (which has now changed), every all-inclusive I have stayed at has truly been ALL-inclusive.

Check out my site at www.MyTravelTruths.com for reviews of some resorts I have stayed at and pictures too.

I would look at how much the all-inclusive is costing you per day.  It can be a good deal if you plan on eating and using their stuff that much.  The buffet at our resort was $35 per person every night.  All inclusive would have added about $100 a day to our trip.  We chose not to do it, but only because we wanted to eat everywhere on the island.  We did spend at least $100 a day on food elsewhere.

It usually includes all you can drink, too, so if you plan on hanging out at the resort and drinking a lot, I would do it.
