Mine- i don't see anything wrong with ivory and gray! In fact, I think it would look very elegant for a summer wedding. or something a tad more casual. They're still different enough I think, unless the gray suit is really white, then it might be more of a problem.

I think it depends on your wedding colors. If your colors are ivory, silver, and black, for instance, a gray suit and ivory dress could look really spectacular! Also, I think it depends on the color of shirt etc. your FI plans on wearing. If he pairs a gray suit with a black shirt, wine colored shirt, blue shirt, or whatever your other wedding color is it could be a great contrast to your dress. Just a thought!

I think it could work! I think it depends on the hue of the gray...you would want to go for a warmer gray as opposed to a cooler gray. Actually, i think it could look very nice with the right color gray!!!!

OK, I think I might be the only dissenter here.  (Sorry!!!)    It doesn't SOUND like it would look right....  But, I'm EXTREMELY particular about color and matching and all that....  Maybe if I saw a picture that showed a good example, that would help.  Have you seen a picture of someone else's?  Do you think you could post a picture?

I think it is all in the matter of the color grey and if you tie the ivory and grey again in the wedding. Maybe his vest & tie/cummerbund could have a pin stripe of ivory, darker grey and/or black.

If the ivory and grey is repeated in the tuxedos I think it will look v. nice.

You could also wrap the bridesmaids bouquet stems in a silver satin ribbon and pin with ivory pearl straight pins to help tie their bright colored flowers in with the grey/ivory combination. There are so many options.

You could also have his groom's cake be an armadillo grooms cake. "It has grey icing. I can't even begin to think how you make grey icing. And the worst part, is the cake part. It's red velvet cake. People are going to be hacking into this poor animal and it looks like it's bleeding to death." Name the movie- c'mon- you know it made you laugh.

I agree with Jorman's ideas!  Great ideas!  I think maybe a diagonal stripe tie that incorporates gray and ivory would look really good!  I'm so glad there are other imaginative people out there!

Aww- look- you can even tie your packaging for groom's gifts into the ivory/silver theme.

I think the right color grey with an ivory vest and shirt would look just fine

As for flowers just have ivory flowers in there somewhere and you should be okay there, too
