Hmmm- I would think of the flowers I loved and try to incorporate those into my colors. A great place to look at bridesmaid dresses for color ideas is: After Six They have fun fresh choices and the prices are great. I think pink looks fantastic with green and you have a lot of variety from barely pink (almost white) to more of a bold pink. You could use flowers from gergera daisies, to cala lillies, even hydrangeas... Lavendar also looks great with green. Yellow, ivory or white is a good pair and there are many flowers that could help tie in the colors for this combination. Good luck (an of course its not too late to start planning- we're girls, we've been dreaming of this day since we were 5!) I'm not engaged yet either, but I know what I want.

I'm a BM in a wedding that's in 2 weeks. Our dresses are celadon (fancy name for celery) and the bride is combining that with pink. Our flowers are pink peonies and I know that the center pieces will also have pink flowers. It's a lovely combo. Good luck.

Hi Beautiful Disaster! I'm in the same boat -- not engaged, but still have some ideas -- especially green! I actually really like butter yellow/pale yellow with green. But pink is pretty too!

Green is one my favorite colors...it looks great with: Green and Pink Green and chocolate brown Green and Ivory Green and Yellow Pale Green and Moss Green Green and Gold accents Green and Mango Green and Taupe .......basically green works well w/almost all combos'- I would choose flowers I like best, and whatever colors are easiest to find in them...I would let that be the deciding factor ( ie: pink peonies or roses, green hydrangea, yellow calla's...)

I love celery too! Our colors will be celery, pink, and a medium light blue/turquoise (I can't think of a better description of the blue color ~ it's not intense but still lively??? If you look at my 'DIY Invite' thread you can get a decent idea of what I'm talking about). Anyhow... I'm thinking of using peonies & green cymbidium orchids (my favorite) for the bouquets, but that will really depend on our final flower budget... Our wedding is in May 2006 as well! That shade of green is so versatile that you could go with any number of combinations and it will look really wonderful ~ just depends on what kind of mood you are going for. I see a lot of green/pink & green/blue combinations that are so fun. ~teebee~ |

I don't think you could go wrong with either options. Peonies are just GORGEOUS by the way. The pink ones look perfect with the celery color! Have fun planning and good luck!

I love the idea of chocolate brown and celery. You have seen this dress with pink and black, but here it is in espresso (chocolate brown)and celery. The satin tie belt is removeable, so you could add your own belt in celery green or chocolate brown to help it fit your theme. You could also really play up the green and chocolate by having mind chocolate mousse cake (for groom or extra dessert) or little chocolate mints in lieu of candied almonds. Just a thought. ![]()

http://www.dessy.com/index.cfm?go=dresses&style=2021 http://www.dessy.com/index.cfm?go=dresses&style=1976 http://www.dessy.com/index.cfm?go=product_detail&pid=325&color=black i loove this. thanks for the links.. i am planning on having 4 or 5 bridesmaids, 2 of whom are plus sized. i know that they will feel more comfortable with something covering their arms, so i am either looking for something short sleeved (mission impossible) or with a jacket thingy. then i found this... http://www.dessy.com/index.cfm?go=product_detail&pid=325&color=black that would work with pretty much any other those. opinions? i dont want my girls to be uncomfortable. i like these: http://www.dessy.com/index.cfm?go=dresses&style=2021 http://www.dessy.com/index.cfm?go=dresses&style=1976 i wish there was a sizing chart on that page. can anyone recommend a good website to look at boquets and types of flowers so i can get a visualization? this is so much fun :) thanks again! ****I love him and would accept a twist tie from him, but damnit, twist ties just don't sparkle :)**** |

i wish there was a sizing chart on that page. There is a size chart on the website somewhere because we used it for a wedding I was in. In that wedding two of the bridesmaids were plus size. The bride found a solution by having us each where a dres of the same length, color and material but a different style, so we could each have a dress that suited us. It worked out really well. can anyone recommend a good website to look at boquets and types of flowers so i can get a visualization? This link has a bunch of different bouquets. :) http://www.links2love.com/wedding_archive1.htm I am the sudo event coordinator for my company and on more than one occassion have requested a photograph of what I am looking for. For example, I wanted a photgraph of a gerber daisy topiary for a centerpiece idea and requested on from my favorite florist here in town. They didn't have one, so they made a topiary for me and photographed it so I could have an example. My point is, if a florist wants your business they will help you out the best way they can. ![]()

Beautiful Disaster, My only recommendation in regards to your BM dresses and plus sized BMs is this: I wouldn't use the Shiny fabric. I'm not plus sized, but not petite by any means (sz 10-12) and I'm not comfortable in that shiny satin fabric because it magnifies every figure flaw I have.... Just my .02. I really like the champaign colored one.... BUT, it is your wedding day! HTH!!
