Hi!  I can't find the ring I see in my head (no, not hallucinations, just active imagining!), and am going nutty!  It's what I want for my wedding band.

I want a 2 or 3 mm platinum band, with diamonds in a "scattered" motif on the front only of the band (can a band have a front?).  I'm really hard on the back of my rings, from smacking them on things and holding keys, and I know I would ruin an eternity band.  I found the ring in the picture, but it's not platinum, it's too wide, AND it's from the UK, and I'd really like to work with somebody in the US, for my peace of mind.  So, any ideas on where I could find this, or if not, who could make it?

Thanks!

Reb

Hi!

I could be wrong but it looks somewhat similar to the celebration ring on Whiteflash's website. www.whiteflash.com They also custom-make beautiful pieces so perhaps you can contact them!

Good luck in your search!

I think Tiffany has one of these too maybe? Definitely not unheard of...it'd be fun to design one with a pattern of diamonds. Have fun!

Thanks!  I've seen the scattered diamond rings on Blue Nile, White Flash, and E-weddingbands.com, but they are all too wide, and have diamonds all the way around.  I'm being persnickity, but I only want diamonds on one side, and the band no more than 3 mm, more like 2 to 2.5 mm.  I have found the names of some people here who do beautiful custom work, so I'm hopeful.  I continue my search!

Reb,

I've been looking for something somewhat similar too, so if you do find something please post it.  I am looking for the diamonds to only be on the top as well but i would like them all in a row.  Similar to these but not much space between the diamonds and in platinum.

3mm doesn't quite give enough space for scattering diamonds of different sizes, but perhaps something can be done... custom.

Christian Bauer has some rings like that. The randomness of diamond dots is more obvious on wider versions even there:

Jennyann:

I can't post the pic, it's copyrighted, but follow this link, and I think I found a band similar to what you are describing:

I think Valeria is right; I don't think I'm going to be able to find what I want in the ring width I need.  I have a 4 mm e ring band, and anything bigger than 3 mm is going to make me look like I'm wearing a platinum knuckle!  I love the bar set band on whiteflash, so I may get that instead, as if that would be TERRIBLE!  I liked the scattered because it made less of the metal show, so I didn't have a thick metal look.  I think this will work for that effect as well, and I love it and it's in my price range.  What do you think?

What about something like one of these? At 90$ I think they are a steal.

my ering, so you can see why I'm worried about having bands of metal looking like a big platinum knuckle!

Hey, you ering is quite similar to mine (also a half-bezel) and I was considering very similar wedding bands too!  I actually first got a bar set half-eternity band from Facets.  It looked great with my ering but i wasn't too happy with its quality plus I realized i kind of wanted more of a band that could be worn on its own.  So I next considered one with scattered stones and also wanted it to be no more than 3mm.  I found that there's a reason they're usually wider, the more narrow bands just don't have the same effect; the little stones instead of looking scatterred just look like the jeweler was drunk when putting them into the band because they're so close together.  I went with something quite different, a band with lttle stones set diagonally across the front of the band and I really like it.  But i think a bar set band would look great too as long as it's well made.

Oh yeah, I did come across a scatterred ring like that here .  They start at 3mm.

Oh, I just saw those here and click on the "starlight bands" link. They make them from 2.5mm and say "Our classic "Comfort Fit" Starlight Bands are available in widths from 2.5m to 10mm in 18kt rose or yellow gold, and platinum with as many or few diamonds as you wish."

Please post pictures when you choose a band : )

I wish you well,

Bridget

Thanks for the feedback on the facets ring, Elpri!  And thank you everybody for the links!  I am still hesitant to get a eternity band or something with design all around, because I'm hard on the backs, but I am definitely going to keep looking.  When I figure this out, I'll post the set!

How about 1.5mm !     At that size, the band is more "diamond thread" and would likely be protected from direct impact with anything by the ring nearby.

They may be able to produce a platinum version or colored gold (there's a pink gold one too).

Perhaps not quite like this... but 1.5mm is really thin - it could be a pave border to your current ring!
On the original site, there is a hand picture of the gold ring - which is even a tiny bit wider (link).

Valeria, I don't know how you do it, but I love that you can alter the images to give an idea of how it looks.  That's beautiful!  Hmm...now I have more options than I originally thought!  I have a few more months to figure it out.  I'll be sure to post whatever I get, and I really appreciate the help and feedback.  I want to get something I love.
