I have been lurking on this forum for several months now. In my searches of old threads, I came across several where people in the Boston and Massachusetts area were looking for a great appraiser and/or one that would return their calls. After my experiences this past month with both appraisers listed on this site for Massachusetts, I have to highly recommend Jeff Averbrook, GG of Metro Jewelry Appraisers (http://www.metrojewelryappraisers.com/) as he both meets and exceeds expectations.

I have been to Jeff now on two occasions for separate loose diamond appraisals and will be back again a third time for the final appraisal once my Tacori ring is completed. Having been there twice, I am confident Jeff offers consistent quality of work to his customers. His analysis is unbiased and quite thorough. Without him seeing anything in advance, all his figures matched up with the paperwork I received with the stones. He will provide you with realistic not “feel good” pricing, so you will then know whether or not you paid a fair price. He is using the latest Rappaport guides.

Technical details aside, Jeff is very professional, courteous, and easy to work with - taking the time to carefully explain things to you in detail. He follows up on email and voicemail very well which is great. Also the location is super easy as it is right off Rt-93 North of Boston and offers some flexibility in hours. His price structure is also very reasonable.

I mentioned to Jeff how I was having a problem obtaining a Chubb policy in Massachusetts without transferring over all my other insurance (do a search on this forum and you will find it to be a common problem). So he kindly provided me with a personal reference of a VP at an insurance company in the state which would do it no problem. Talk about added value…

The overall diamond experience is stressful and hectic enough - thankfully Jeff makes it a little more pleasant which is nice for such a paramount purchase. In today’s busy world, it is so nice to be surprised with getting more than you expect. I received much more than the typical facts and figures appraisal.
