Jewelry Appraisal Services in Houston rocks!

I just had to post something about this place after what they did for me. I bought my ring mounting and my main stone online separately, and went to Jewelry Appraisal Services here in Houston to have them examined. No problems. I then went to a place that was recommended to me by a friend in order to have the stone set. But when I brought the finished ring back to JAS to have it examined, they said that they noticed some new chips in two of the side stones, and that the chips were so obvious under a microscope that there¡¯s no way they could have missed them the first time around, if they had been there. So I brought it back to the place where I had the ring set, and they not only denied causing any chips, but also denied seeing any chips at all! Then JAS then went to the wall for me. They called the place where I had the ring set and told them that the chips were definitely there, that the first time they examined it the chips were NOT there, and that regardless, it was irrational to refuse to replace two 1 point side diamonds at a tiny cost for the sake of customer relations. After that conversation, the setter relented and replaced the chipped side stones for free. I then had JAS examine the finished product, and they said the job was well done.

So in short, Jewelry Appraisal Services went to the wall for me when I ran into trouble. Considering that my ring isn¡¯t an expensive one (although it is to me), this indicates how far JAS is willing to go out of their way to help a nobody like me, even when they aren¡¯t absolutely obligated to do so. So if you are in Houston and need jewelry appraised, this place rocks.
