I am graduating from Fordham in like 3 weeks with my Masters in Social Work...finishing up and internship....trying to find a job and planning a wedding that is in 5 1/2 months....I am ready to have a nervous breakdown!!!!!!! Anyone else in this situation? I think I need to shove wedding "things" out of my mind for at least 3 weeks so I can get through the final stretch of school....ahhhh, if I would have know it was going to be like this I would have gotten married next spring so I had more time!!! Sorry....needed to vent!

TAKE A BREAK!!! 3 weeks wont hurt you... youve got the big stuff right? Church, reception, etc. Also some things you think HAVE to be done right now, can wait a week or two. I need to send out my invites in June and i havent ordered them yet! You need to take care of you first. Im not in grad school, but totally feel your pain with wanting to have a nervous breakdown! I have had to put wedding plans on hold to save my sanity! Luckily, with 3 1/2 months to go, most of the big stuff is done (except invites), but for the next (hopefully) two weeks, no wedding stuff... moving stuff! FI and I are buying a townhouse and Friday is closing and moving day! FIs job is such that he doesnt have time to call and set up appointments, talk to people, etc so everything from the real estate agent to the closing details have been on my shoulders to get done. Ive basicly told him this house is open sunday. You need to fill this out for the mortgage. We have to be here at this time. I had been doing good on my own until last week. I had a HORRIBLY busy work week (lots of over time, which is rare for me), i *HAD* to get the BM dress order done and shop for home owners insurance. I finally finished all that up yesterday, but along the way had several panic attacks and then last night i got all worked up before bedtime and ended up crying myself to sleep. The panic attacks are hilarious only because i am usually such a calm, no-stress person! FI is baffled by me being so upset... its just how i deal with stress i think. I hold up good when i need to and then once whatever is done, i break down and loose it! I just have this horrible feeling that ive done something wrong and Friday we dont get the house! GOOD LUCK and RELAX!

Isn't it *funny* how it all happens at once, even when you think you plan so well...? I am going thru something similar & can totally relate! And I'm sorry you have to go thru so much Jessesgrl! Any time you need a shoulder.... ![]() _______________________________________ |

I remember my final weeks of grad school...finishing up an internship...completing a thesis...trying to balance your relationship into all of this...it's havoc-wreaking!!! Furthermore, you've got a wedding to plan... As others have said, give yourself a break to reprioritize for 3 weeks. There is nothing so major regarding the wedding for 3 weeks that you have to attend to and you still have several months afterwards, correct? Let yourself focus on what you need to accomplish NOW! It's okay...3 weeks is a relatively short period of time and when you're finished, you're done FOR GOOD and then you have all the time in the world to focus on the wedding and you'll have a Master's degree to boot!! Take time in your personal accomplishments or you may become resentful later when you find yourself allowing the wedding to overshadow such a wonderful accomplishment!! Congratulations!! You're almost there! ![]()

Yay, it's not just me! My wedding is next month and I'm still hoping to defend before the wedding. I'm probably delusional, especially considering how much time i spend here and the Knot instead of working on what the 27th draft of my dissertation. At this point I don't think I even can afford a break from the wedding stuff, there's too much going on. But with over 5 months, you definitely can, especially now when school is almost over for you. Get your fi involved or you mom/friends, have them take care of stuff that's urgent or just wait a few weeks and concentrate on school if you can because the closer it gets to the wedding, the harder it is. Good luck!
