ok, i am considering adding a pave collar to my solitaire. in the first pic the tip of the pave seems to sit right beneath the girdle, in the second pic there seems to be a tiny bit of space between the girlde and the pave. is the space due to the ring design or does it have to do with the shape/cut of the stone?

Mrssalvo,

That has to do with the depths of the stones that are set on the side ring and the size and cut of the center stone.  It’s a pretty complicated job.  This will require at least replacing the entire head of your ring.  Depending on how it’s constructed, it may actually require an entirely new ring.
