sparklish Cut Rock Total Posts: 103 Last Post: 8/16/2005 Member Since: 3/7/2005	I've been ramping up for exams and finding a summer job, and my mind hasn't been on the engagement lately, at least not as much as usual. But I came home yesterday to find a note at the front door asking me to "ring" before I came in. There were rose petals strewn on the steps leading up to our apartment and my dear boy was there. He told me to close my eyes. I smelled delicious chocolate but I still wasn't sure what was going on. After I came in and opened my eyes, I saw a dozen roses, a plate of chocolate brownies, and a beautiful wooden ring box. Completely in shock, I just sort of stood there dazed, while he got down on his knee and gave me the ring. I didn't open it at first until finally he said, a little panicked, "don't you want to see it?" I did, and it was exactly, precisely, completely what I wanted. Specs are that it's an AGS cert, D, .5 carats, VS2, 60.8% depth, 56% table, 34.1% Crown Angle, 40.9 % Pavilion Angle. I LOVE IT! And the platinum setting, which he had custom made based on some pictures I sent him, is gorgeous. And this baby has fire. We went out for a meal last night at a wonderful restaurant and it was just glittering and sparkling away like mad. I'm trying to post photos, so let's see if they work!

I am bursting to call people, but must wait until my fiance (EEEEK! I get to call him my fiance!!!!!!!) gets home; we told his brothers yesterday but haven't told his parents yet! We've told one of mine, since he called as we were running out the door to dinner, but I can't wait to tell the other! My mother is away this weekend so I can't call her yet, though she knows since he called to ask for her permission!!!! Anyway I am bursting to tell, so thanks for being here!

I totally was! It was funny because we went out with my FH's brother and sister-in-law; he went out for dinner with them the night they were engaged, but they didn't tell him and just waited for him to notice the ring; he never did, not being the most observant about such things. So we decided to play the same trick... his brother noticed it first, then after much giggling his sister-in-law did too. I was staring at it all night. I'm so happy!!!

I just went to pick up our car (after a few celebratory champagnes, neither of us were fit to drive home) and it was so hard to keep my eyes on the road! Here's another pic - can't stop posting them. It's a little blurry for some reason, but I will try to get one later that really grabs the fire.
