hey guys I was wondering if an extra FACET in the corner of the princess cut stone will affect stability of it in the setting? Why is there an extra facet in the corner? And is it bad to have it there? Is it worth buying a stone like that?

Maybe the corner was broken off and they polished it out. It wouldn't necessarily be a dealbreaker for me.

It's seen quite a lot in Princess cuts, and may be the result of polishing out a chip or small inclusion. It's nothing to be concerned about if small and does not result in the girdle at the corner being too thin. |
