A followup to my question last week: Down to 2 diamonds now: One is a 1.22 H VS1 ACA from Whiteflash 1.4 HCA: http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-1210023.htm# The other is a 1.26 G SI1 ACA Expert Selection from Whiteflash 1.3 HCA: http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-1237422.htm I am going to be buying one of these in the next 2 days, and am wondering if you had to, which one would you buy and why. The SI1 is eye clean and an expert selection, and a G versus an H (not that I probably would be able to tell the difference, but it is more mind clean I guess), and a little cheaper, but that is not enough to matter really. I'd probaby say I am leaning towards the 1.26, but wanted to get the expert opinion of pricescope. Also, this will go into a Ritani 4 prong pave endless love setting. Thanks in advance for your help with this exciting purchase. |

These two diamonds are very simiular. You have a better clarity vs. a better color. It seems the biggest diffrence that your paying for is the diffrence in ct. sizes. One thing to be careful of is the thin girdle, chips more easy. Personaly, you said the sI1 was eye clean, I think I'd go with that one. Since there will be no eye diffrence and the color is one step up, which most people are more strict about. With that one you also have a slight variation of girdle... not as thin the whole way around. Not to mention the extra size. See if you can get the ideal scope images for that one, if your worried, I just didn't see them underneath the picture. Keep in mind I am not an expert, I just went through this whole diamond buying experiance myself and am just trying to pass along some things I've been taught. Both diamonds look great and I'm sure either would be beautiful! Good luck!

Johnny, Think I like the G, too. But note, I believe diamonds at White Flash are either "A Cut Above" (both of your choices), or Expert Selection (value oriented), but not both. So your options, from what I can tell, are equal that way. Ira (Ruffles have Ridges) Z. |

Theres really not much to choose between them... the most *obvious* and i say it like that as its a very small difference - is the table size. there is a 1% difference which may be something you can notice.. and prefer one over the other. Clarity wise - i believe John mentioned that anything within the ACA and the ES range is Eye-clean. Tho maybe best to speak to brian to get his thoughts. and colour - well unless your VERY sesistive i dont think you'll tell the difference between a G and a H when set. Both are virtually identical in size... where i doubt side by side you could see the 0.005cm difference in diameter. If the H&A imagrey is important to you then go the ACA if not then the $500 difference may go someway to the ring. _____________________ |

Ira, if you follow the link to the 1.26 you'll see it listed on the page as: 1.26 carat A Cut Above H&A Diamond with a ES picture. Which may explain the above post. _____________________ |

Johny, Lord, Yes, I now see what you both mean. Best guess is that this is a mistake, but you may want to clarify. While expert selection is generally good news, it's designed to be a step below "A Cut Above." Ira (Ruffles have Ridges) Z. |

number wise there isnt a nickel worth of difference between them either get the cheaper one or call and have Brian pull them and tell you which he thinks is better. ........... Karl has joined the diamond trade and is now posting as Karl_K |
