Dear Experts, Newbie here and this is my first diamond ring and I am a little lost as to what I should be buying. While I understand the 4 Cs, there are other things which I want to clarify before I make my commitment. My Question: 1. Is it okay to buy diamond ring online? If yes, which one is better Blue Diamond or Whiteflash? Or do you have any other recommendation? 2. What is the difference between round cut and ideal round cut? 3. Why is it that diamonds which are GIA certified more expensive than AGS certified? 4. Is it safe that diamonds are transported via fedex once I have purchased it? 5. Which fluroscence is better? NO, negligible or strong blue for a .75 carat color D and VVS1 round diamond? 6. What does Girdle mean? 6.Given the specs of the two diamonds below, which one is better? Why is diamond 1 more expensive? Is it just the color? Diamond 1: Price: $5,248.00 Report: GIA Shape: Round Carat: 0.77 Color: D Clarity: VVS1 Depth: 61.4 Table: 56 Girdle: M Polish: Very Good Symmetry: Excellent Culet: Fluorescence: No Measurements: 5.88-5.91X3.62 Diamond 2: Price: $4,033.00 Report: AGS Shape: Round Ideal Cut Carat: 0.760 Color: F Clarity: VVS1 Depth: 61 Table: 55 Crown Angle: 34.8 Crown %: 15.6 Pavilion Angle: 40.9 Pavilion %: 43.2 Girdle: Thin Polish: Excellent Symmetry: Ideal Culet: Pointed Fluorescence: Negligible Measurements: 5.94-5.96X3.63 Please please please help me! This is my dream and I am looking the worth of every little cent I saved to buy this and I want to be sure I get something that is best for my hard earned savings. Thanks in advance. Probably this is the only piece of precious jewelery I will own. :-) Thanks, Sandra. Kuku |

Kuku, Welcome to Pricescope; I think you've come to a place that can help you. I'd start by reading the tutorial here, which will answer many of your questions. Regarding your two picks...I can tell you that the second one is fairly priced, and has sufficient cut information to say it is certainly promising. The first one, lacking the same detail, is more difficult to review. I like White Flash, and though many vendors would be fine on this board, they are probably particularly good. Settle in, review the boards, learning more, or buy the second one and call it a day. Best wishes, Ira (Ruffles have Ridges) Z. |
