A 1ct diamond with a Very thick girdle is the same size as a 0.88ct diamond with a medium girdle. Med to VTK probably means there is 1 spot that is medium and 20 that are VTK Garry Holloway FGAA DipDT |

A thick girdle doesn’t really have much effect on your light performance and it actually increases your durability somewhat. When setting, the jeweler is going to cut the seats to fit whatever stone they are given so it doesn’t even usually cause problems with setting although with certain designs there are a few issues that come up. There's never a crowd when you go that extra mile. |
