In terms of percentages, what would be a good appraisal on a loose stone? How much more should it appraise for than what you paid?

Enough to get an adequate replacement. any more and you pay too much insurance. The idea that you get a high appraisal suggests you are clever and beat the system. That is silly. If you want to know you got a great price - ask me to tell you. I will write to you "wow you got a great price, you must be very clever :)" If you bought retail then it should be appraised retail, if you bought online then it should be a lower online appraisal :) Garry Holloway FGAA DipDT |
