Is a 30% discount on the price listed on the tag of the diamond a good deal? 7000 down to 5000, just for the stone. Sorry for the vaugue question, I'll try to get diamond specs this weekend.

A 30% discount isn't any good. But, if it's worth $3000 and they're asking $3500, then a 30% discount is pretty good. Basically, you need the specs to try and figure out market price to see if the discount is any good.
