Is 59.9% total depth too low? Would there be any potential negative implications for the visual performance of an otherwise well cut diamond - table 56%, crown angle 34, pavilion angle 40.6?

nope. - Mine is a 59.9% depth (57.1 table, 34.8c 40.6pav) looks stunning... just means your getting a really good diameter for the size.

I wish I had seen it! We are buying online, and this makes things more difficult, even though I like the fact that I can "browse" so many diamonds, something that I wouldn't be able to do at a b&m with limited stock.

According to Jim at Dirt Cheap Diamonds, the ideal range for depth is 60.2% - 62.7%

the only thing is do not set it in a exposed girdle setting because the thin girdle is on the border of very thin and could chip.
A rubbed in bezel or at least a 6 prong setting - never a 4 prong

This diamond seems to have two differend photos on DCD's website:

If you click on the "camera" icon from the signature series search page you get this:

At the DCD website, the diamond is described as having a girdle of .9 - 1.9, and at the tutorial here, I read that thin is regarded as .6 (thanks, btw, for the other abbreviations included at the tutorial).  Garry, if you're saying it's bordering on very thin, based on the depth, is there some discrepant info here?
