Can anyone recommend a custom jeweler anywhere in Arizona who is reasonably priced? I've found a couple that have offered good prices, but I can't find much background or references for them. I'm a little nervous after having one fairly popular jeweler tell me that I was crazy for wanting a stone with medium fluorescence because they are "butt ugly stones" and that he would "never sell a diamond like that". Otherwise, what's the concensus on ordering custom jewelry from a distant place online. Is it safe to order from a reputable jewelry without being able to actually come in to the shop?

I know its not in Phoenix, but call information to look up Coffin and Trout jewelers- I believe they are in Chandler or Mesa. I haven't lived in AZ for 10 years but they did an original design for my engagement ring and they were very reasonable. They have the look, customer service and quality of a high-end store but they are very down-to-earth, flexible and wanted to work with us to make the ring of my dreams! give them a try...
