DiamondBeauty Rough Rock Total Posts: 1 Last Post: 3/3/2005 Member Since: 3/3/2005	Hello- I've searched through the posts on here and have found several references to HRD being comparable to GIA- which has been helpful since I don't often hear much about HRD. My jeweler is showing me two stones - one is EGL certified 1.5 carat, G color SI2 clarity, cut very good. The other is HRD certified, G color SI2 clarity, cut good. Both stones look beautiful, the EGL has a slight inclusion (dark-ish spot) towards the center (though not noticeable much at all) where the HRD has a slight inclusion (white-ish spot) more towards the side than the center. Does anyone have any input on which they would choose? (Just a note, the HRD stone is approx 1000-1500 dollars more, but if it's worth it, I'm willing to pay that difference.) Thank you.

Hest88 Ideal Rock Total Posts: 3,681 Last Post: 11/24/2009 Member Since: 1/22/2003	HRD is pretty reputable, though they don't have much of a presence in the U.S., but I wouldn't purchase a stone based on which lab report is more reputable. Ideally you'd send both stones to an appraiser, but if you don't have that option look at both stones closely side by side in as many lighting conditions as you can to see which one speaks to you.
