Princess diamond - basket setting problem?

daviesoh Rough Rock Total Posts: 3 Last Post: 3/3/2005 Member Since: 3/2/2005	I just picked up my engagement ring and I have a question concerning the setting. Is it possible that the basket setting is too big for the diamond? The stone is a princess cut diamond, .61. When I look down at the diamond, two of the sides of the diamond appear to rounded, rather than straight. In looking at the cross bars/supports they are somewhat bowed out and don't fit very close to the diamond itself. I don't think this is the way it should look and plan to go back to the jeweler to have it corrected, but want to have some idea of what I need to say so that it is done correctly. Can anyone help me out? Thanks. daviesoh

It makes the diamond look like it is round on the sides. I will try to scan and post some pictures tonight when I get home. Thanks. daviesoh
