Hello my fellow LIW-- Anyone else's boyfriend love to torture them over the ring? Ok granted I keep bugging him about it and trying to get him to tell me little hints about the ring but still  . Sometimes he just says if I want to know *THAT* badly about the ring he will tell me...but then I kind of want it to be a surprise too! So he will tell me small things like.. it's going to have more than one diamond... so then I get really excited and a few hours later I'll mention how excited I am and I'll ask what *kind of* diamonds are on the ring... and he will say "it has more than one diamond?" ARGH!  I know it's all fun and games....and I know I'm really just torturing myself but yeah... is anyone going through this too?  Plus we are taking a trip in March so maybe it will happen then? But earlier in the month he said not to get too excited because the ring schedule would be delayed. Not that I knew what the "ring schedule" was anyways right! He said he got a feeling that I thought it was going to happen on our trip so not to be let down when it doesn't happen. Maybe he's trying to throw me off track? I doubt it. I know I will be happy whenever the time comes but I am just anxious and silly right now

yes he loves reminding me that there is a diamond with my name on it hidden in his room. back story: we looked at both diamonds and settings for awhile together and then last week narrowed down the diamonds to 2 from GOG. last thursday he told me he ordered it and that we had to stay at his place friday night cause it was to be delivered saturday AM. he asked if i wanted to see it and i said no i don't want to see it until it is given to me and i can wear it everyday for the rest of my life. we picked out a setting earlier this week and it is being set right now...ready saturday. i have no idea when i'll get it...he says in the next 3 months but i can't wait that long! i think he is just trying to throw me off.....i hope!

Yes, my BF is driving me absolutely nuts. I find good deals on the net, stones/rings I like, and he says "I want to pick it out and do it my way...". When I asked him about it, he'll say "OK, do you really want me to tell you now b/c I will?" and then I freeze because I guess part of me would like it to be a surprise. I'm going crazy. He wanted me to look up diamonds/rings and print out stuff I like so he could go with that. That was done a few months a go. Now I just have to wait.

Morticia-- That is SO funny! We are going through the exact same thing!!! It makes me feel so much better that someone else feels the same way I do! It's like I *want* to know...but I don't at the same time. I guess I just want the ring in general!  I don't know if my boyfriend has found a jeweler to do the custom setting or not--ahhh!! Is your boyfriend ordering a setting or having one custom made?JennyAnn-- At least you know the ring will be done!  It's funny... after I read your post I thought of some other posts I read on a different thread about boyfriends who wanted to wait to give the girl the ring but once they physically got the ring from the jeweler they were too excited and proposed right away! I think boyfriends also fall in love with the rings! I am sure it won't be three months unless you are planning a vacation, having a birthday, etc. Although it definitely doesn't take a special occasion to get a proposal! I'm so excited for you!!!

Snow_happy, I honestly don't know what route he is taking. We live in NYC (too close to the Diamond District and Leon Mege's office) and I told him that my dream ring/setting is by Leon. He has all his info. I want either a solitaire setting (Cushion or Asscher) or an Asscher with traps. Pretty simple, no pave or anything... I love love love Leon's claw prongs.  I honestly don't know what he'll do but I'm sure I'll like it b/c Ben is pretty good about that. The only thing. He said to me last night "You realize you have changed your mind on what you want for an e-ring a million times."  Fingers crossed! What about you??

Morticia-- I ADORE Leon's creations. Too bad I'm not in the New York area!  It's so funny because my favorite thing about Leon's designs are the claw prongs too! Especially some of the double prongs for solitaire settings that he has made for some people that have been posted here. By the way... what is an Asscher with traps?My boyfriend is getting the ring custom-made (so he says!) and I trust him since I think his taste in jewelry is more specific than mine and his taste overall is excellent! I want an antique but simple style ring and there are some great jewelers around where we are (Los Angeles) that could definitely do this! Has he been listening when I am pumping him with suggestions? I don't know!  I will use this excuse to post my "dream ring" though with the budget it won't be this big! Can you post an Asscher with traps? Do you have any pictures of cushion solitaires? I haven't seen those without pave on the sides. My only concern is the limiting budget but my boyfriend has said not to worry about that

snowhappy - Wow that ring is awesome. I love the way the prongs are top/bottom and sides, rather than the corners. The shank is gorgeous too. My BF also did the whole I'll show you/tell you everything if you really want...and then I knew I didn't really want to know. It's deliciously torturous anticipation! It could be that your BF is setting you up for a surprise on your trip.

You guys will be the first to know if the whole "delay" thing is just to throw me off track! The ring I posted is just a ring that I fell in love with but with a 1.23 ct. center stone, it will stay in my dreams. In reality I'm hoping for a miniature version of it! Morticia-- When you post a message you can click "attach file" to upload one file from your computer. PS will only let you upload one per message. If the picture is on the internet already then use this command: <"img src"="location of file on internet"> The "location of the file on the internet is the address http://blahblahblah. Oh yeah and of course take out the " " in the command to make it work! :) Hope that helps :) I can't wait to see the pics!

Blue Chica -- Do you know what part of the ring process your bf is at right now? What kind of rings were you looking at? by the way.. I saw the Family Guy episode where Stewie puts on lipstick (like in your icon) it was HILARIOUS!

snow_happy, that ring is so pretty. Imagine how it would be with claw prongs!!! (DROOL.....) And I also love that the prongs are north-south-east-west vs. the usual placements. It will be here before you know it!!! Ummm....an asscher with traps:
