do PS members(in their mind) sometime questions how can the vendor present this particular stone as H&A, but obviously not a H&A, but you don't want comment about it. i'm not speaking of any particular vendors here, it's just more of a individual case.

it is always harder to find a "mind clean" stone than a eye clean stone.

All depends on trust. I was lucky enough that the two B&M stores I dealt with were trusted by me. Saw no reason not to. One used to be a H&A vendor but decided to stop b/c he felt he couldn't justify the prices to his customers when they asked. So, none of his stones are "H&A" branded. The other sells them, but he's the oddest jeweler I've ever seen. No attempt at sales at all. If you want H&A, you gotta ask for it. He's not gonna offer it. Doesn't offer anything really. You have to ask him for everything, from a $30 chain to a $100,000 rock. The weird thing is he won't refuse any request if he can provide it so if you know how he operates, you know ot just ask him for anything. So for him, if he shows me a H&A stone, I feel I can trust that it will be a H&A stone cuz I can ask for an ideal stone along with the H&A and he'll bring both out to let me compare for myself.

yep all the time.
If they want to be on my recomended list they will meet fairly strict standards when they call them h&a or they hear about it.
As for the rest of the vendors not on my list I could care less what they do.
Its a simple matter of changeing what I can and let the rest go.
Getting consumers educated and interested in it will bring them around faster in the long run.

I hear you there.
I a vendor starts making excuses with me its a mistake they wont make twice.
Resonable explainations are ok but even the hint of excuses and they might just face a strm fireball.
