 question about diamond mounting on platinum settings

 		I bought a four stone platinum semi-mount ring and asked the jeweler to mount my loose diamond on it. Unfortunately the job was not properly done. The jeweler agreed to do it again. Is the crown made of the same platinum material as the ring? I heard platinum is very hard. So I am very worried if this could damage the prongs, the side stones, or the center diamond. How does jewelers usually de-mount and re-mount diamond on platinum settings? Thank you very much.
