What is it about being a mother, it just makes us all sooo happy to see those little ones chowing down after they've been sick. A big thank-you to the man upstairs and to the angels he sends to watch over our little ones. My twins spent 10 weeks in NICU and I've never felt the presence of angels so strongly. A hand to cradle them and another on your shoulder to guide you through. Now give that boy a second helping!! It is hard enough for an adult who understands what is going on but a little one must get very confused. I am sure Nan and her family handled it expertly and I hope that they have continued good luck. Thank you for your good wishes. My son is an adult but you never outgrow worrying about your childen. He is a biomedical engineer but is too sick to work just now. He had several surgeries a few years ago because a doctor at one of the world's leading teaching hospitals misread a CT scan and did not realize that he needed emergency surgery until it was too late and he almost died of septic shock.(Same hospital where Libby Zion and Andy Warhol died because of medical errors). As a result, he has had several operations to correct the mess and is now back in the hospital because he fainted and fell down a flight of stairs and broke several ribs. It turned out that he was weak because he has iron depletion anemia which indicates internal bleeding. The doctors are now trying to find out the source of the bleeding. Because he is in medical research he is very aware of all the worst things that can and have happened and is very depressed because he has a research project to complete. A few weeks ago, someone asked the question as to whether people were embarrassed when they wore their ring if it was large. I said then that I was not embarrassed but would trade in all my material possessions if someone knew where I could buy good health for my family. We have the most wonderful doctors in a great hospital now and we are hoping it is something that can easily be corrected. But the offer to buy good health still goes!
