Rascal49 Ideal Rock Total Posts: 4,350 Last Post: 7/16/2007 Member Since: 7/25/2004	So, as usual, I was thinking about diamonds today, and thought it would be really cool if someone was technological enough to use a digital camcorder to film their ideal H&A stone in various lighting conditions and then was able to make the file available online or link it to their website, etc. I am just very curious to see all these ideal H&As in action (since I myself do not have one)!! So I thought I would throw the idea out there, heck, maybe someone knows of a webpage that already does this. If so, I'd love to know!! Mara Ideal Rock Total Posts: 27,927 Last Post: 11/24/2009 Member Since: 10/30/2002	someone did this...I am trying to remember who...I want to say it was Tim...but I can't recall what his handle was!! whoever I am thinking of...they recorded the stone sparkling and turning this way and that and then made it into a video file, it was pretty cool. maybe someone else can recall what i am blanking out on. in terms of the H&A's in action, to be really honest...it's hard to pinpoint on film or video or digital what really makes a well-cut stone truly SHINE. having had a white brilliant BIC stone and then having had an almost ACA stone...the difference was huge to me and I preferred the almost ACA stone but not everyone would. it just sparkles and reflects light differently. the arrows show up sometimes but usually they actually seem to be the catalysts for much of the sparkle that is throw off...if i see a particular bright blob of sparkle sometimes I can see it's an arrowhead if i look very closely (and hold my hand just right!). so i'd love to see something that could capture the true life and sparkle of a diamond (not even a superideal but just any diamond!) don't think anything can like the real life movements unfortunately! ________________________________ "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." -Albert Einstein
