Hi everyone, I just went to a local jewelry store and tried on a whole bunch of rings. After I tried on the different styles the jeweler sized my finger. The 5.5 felt a bit loose but didn't fall past my knuckle. The 5 was a bit snug but my finger was a bit swollen from trying on all the rings. The jeweler said I was probably a 5.25 but my hands felt really cold (I think I was nervous about trying on rings :P) so my ring size might fluctuate to a higher size. I live in Southern California where the weather doesn't fluctuate all that much (except when I am in the snow a lot in the winter) and it's not very humid. How much does a finger size fluctuate due to the weather? My boyfriend keeps asking me about what size ring I would like so I wanted to get all your opinions. Oh..one more thing. The ring is going to be plated in Rhodium so I want to try to prevent ring re-sizing as much as possible. Do you think there will be a big difference between 5.25 and 5.5? Thanks everyone :) |

What about a 5.25 full, that means it's just a tad bigger than a 5.25. Ask your jeweler, I know I've done that with many of my rings. Hope this helps, good luck!!

Don't know if this helps, but I'm a 5.25 and had my e-ring at about 5.5, and it wouldn't stop flipping upside down! Very annoying and very, very dangerous (for me at least). The size down to the 5.25 was fantastic! Actually, I did the opposite of what Kaleigh suggested and told them to make it a smidge (see my professional terminology at work here!) under 5.25. But I should note that a 5 would not fit on my finger even if it had been sitting in ice for hours! ![]() Also, about being sized AFTER you tried on rings, my finger always gets a bit swollen after I pull rings off and on it several times. That would lead me to believe that perhaps a 5 or like I said above, a tad smaller 5.25 might work best. But of course, the best bet is to have your finger measured a dozen times (not kidding here) at all different times of the day by jewelers. That way, you hopefully will find that MOST of the time you are a 5, 5.25, etc. So for the next couple weeks, when you go past a jeweler, go inside and get your ring size measured! It can't hurt ![]() Good luck!!

Hi, What about a cheap band the same width worn when you are hot and cold. Should only take a couple of days to be sure.
