Beantown Gathering - let's do it !

I think that's easier than going home and coming back and so forth. I also know how all of our weekends are precious and tend to be full to bursting without trying to squeeze anything more in ! So, while not 'taking over' this whole process, I am going to throw a date/time/location out there and you all can tell me if it will work or not and/or if you have a better suggestion. I imagine we want something casual and someplace easy to find. Naturally, (here I go living up to the ultimate cliché !) I have more knowledge of the pub scene than anything else and I am suggesting the following : Date - Thursday, February 17th (I'll be engaged one month !) Time - Anytime between 5:30 and 6:30 (depending on when people can get there) Place - M.J. O'Connors - ground floor of the Park Plaza hotel. It's opposite Maggiano's and a short walk from Boylston or Arlington T-stops on the Green Line. It's near the park so anyone taking the Red Line (like me!) can walk to there by going through the Common. There is parking too since it's near the theatre district but I'm not sure how expensive it is. Are any of you familiar with this pub ? It's roomy and bright with a fun, casual atmosphere, serves great pints and really good food - great appetizers ! I don't know if we have any tee-totalers (non-drinkers) or if anyone is adverse to meeting in a bar - if so, no problem, I'm just throwing this out there. Let me know what you all think ! Let's stop talking about this and really MEET ! It'll be great to get together in person and chat for an evening - how exciting !! All I could remember it was cold and I was tired. But people were friendly and helpful when I asked them questions to get around. I loved their French accent when they spoke English. The underground was very clean. Love the airport. If I have a chance again, I would love to see more of Montreal. They're nice enough not to laugh too much at bumbling tourists . I've driven Le Circuit in Mt. Tremblant and fallen in love with the area.

I'd managed to mostly forget about the meeting tonight with everything that's been going on here and find myself in some pretty, erm... casual lab clothes (jeans, long sleeve top). I'm going to try to make it, depending on what's happening here at work. I might just get too depressed and sad at the latest batch of experiments that I wouldn't be terribly fun company.

PLEASE COME !! MJ's is totally casual, generally caters to an after-work crowd from around the area so most folk are in 'office garb' but you could go in there in painters' duds and it wouldn't matter. Do you know how to find it ? If you stand at the corner of Boylston and Charles (with Charles street one way traffic coming towards you) you'll see P.F. Chang's (huge concrete horses, you can't miss them !) Directly across from P.F. Chang's is a narrow street that's always busy, it runs alongside a new high-rise (I think it's luxury condos) and if you walk this street (with the traffic, again it's one way) you'll see Finale (the dessert place) right in the center in front of you. Finale is on a point or corner (so the street splits right and left) walk around to the LEFT here and MJ's is two doors up. It's actually the ground floor of the Plaza hotel - you shouldn't have any bother finding us. From Boylston to MJ's is less than a five minute walk. After all my trouble giving you very concise (if convuluted !) directions, you have no excuse ! see you LATER !!!!! majorhint oh, am wearing the orange skirt ! (sounds like a line from Bridget Jones !!) and I have my camera. I can honestly say I'm really excited to be meeting you ladies later on !! HOORAH !
