Hello When i enter the Tolkowsky Ideal Proporitons dimension (from Tutorial\AGS Idea Cut) into the Holloway Cute Adviser, it shows wrong data or girdle is dangerously thin. Thought i should be expecting some better grade than that ?

Looking at the figure, you'll notice the girdle is 0%. On the Tutorial page, in the text, there's a "here" link toward the bottom of the page. If you'll click on that, you'll find the explanation. "My girdle article shows how adding a girdle changes Tolkowsky's Diamond Design. The thin curves in figure 3 show diamonds whose thin parts of the girdle are 0.0 % of their diameter (at the "scallops"), and whose thick parts of the girdle are 1.7 % of their diameter (at the "mains"). These diamonds are fragile, because of their thin girdles." There's more information about girdle thicknesses there as well. ![]() Why use a big word when a diminutive word would be succinct! |
