Can I stick and oval in a 6 prong setting originally for a round stone?

Any one know if I can do this? *2 one way tickets and a diamond ring, hell it don't matter what the rain might bring...*

I just want to know if I can go a little larger, or change shape - my real ring is round, so i though it would be cool to change it up a bit - if I can't, I'll probablly order a yellow RB from www.freecz.com. My jeweler told me once that every time a diamond is changed out of a ring, it should get a new head...that head can usually be placed on an existing ring though.
