As you may have seen from my other post I bought a 3/4 ct solitare non-certified. I like the stone but think I paid to much. It is near colorless with a I1 rating and has a big bowtie. It looks pretty but I went out looking to see if I could go ahead and get a certified 1 ct. for the same price. Well I must say that Marquise stones make it hard to tell the sizing. My stone is fatter than long but looks nice size. All of the 1 ct. I saw looked the same size???? I had to go to almost 1.2 to tell a good size difference. The mall had one G/I1 for $3500.00 1.14 that looked good size but I am not sure how to understand the measurements on price.com. I put in .75-1.10 and a lot of the stone come up with similar measurements??? Anyone a marquise specialist

A .75ct marquise should be about 9 x 4.5 mm. A 1.00 marquise should be about 10 x 5 mm. Let me see if I can get a picture showing this for you.

Here is a picture showing a .75 ct MQ on the left, and a 10 x 5 mm CZ (the equivalent of a 1 ct diamond) on the right. If you look carefully, there is a difference in size. ![]()
