i'm new to this because on my first stone I didnt know crown and pavilion numbers, but... i got my new stone today and plugged the #s into the HCA calculator. with using crown/pavilion angles, it got a score of 2.7 (all VG) and I got the impression HCA thinks my new stone stinks. If I plugged in crown/pavilion%, it got a 1.9 (one Ex, rest VG) and HCA now likes it! why the difference? sorry for my ignorance, this is all new to me. the stone IS very sparklie though! woo hoo, because as you can see below: My favorite color is sparkle!!! |

Unfortunately, you'll want to go back to the cut advisor, and review the 3rd paragraph down: You must know Total Depth %, Table % and Crown and Pavilion angles which are on AGS reports. Rounded Crown and Pavilion %’s are given on some other reports- they are not very accurate; you should ask the vendor for the Sarin info on these and GIA graded diamonds.
