I am a graphic designer by profession, so when I thought a proposal was near, I rendered a design of my dream ring and gave it to him. My boyfriend secretly had it crafted over the course of the following months!! What do you think?! (Pics attached)

kellfire Rough Rock Total Posts: 7 Last Post: 2/15/2005 Member Since: 1/7/2005	Yes, the finished engraving, etc, is a bit different from the initial drawing - we decided to give artistic license to the metalsmith when it came to the specific decorative style of the carvings. I knew I certainly wasn't an expert on it, so it felt right to trust it to a professional. I knew I wanted a "wheat" pattern (I was really digging Tacori) and wanted milgrain on every available edge, but left the rest up to the artist's judgement. I also provided some pictures of engraved bands I admired (Tacori, Beaudry come to mind...) No real roadblocks throughout the process. My fiance tells me that he requested revisions to the first wax mold, because the bezels were sitting on top of the band, instead of level with it. But that was it. (I was cut out of the process early, so as to maintain SOME element of suprise when he gave it to me...) Thanks again for the warm welcome!
