What is the name of this setting? I am planning to set a 1.7 carat 53 spread on a platinum solitaire setting. How much would it cost to buy/make this setting?

53 spread = length x width

There's no way to keep the proportions of that ring for a 7mm-ish stone... so the look will be different. Kayla had a simple solitaire made at Artofplatinum (link to thread) so she might know what a ballpark is. Artofplatinum has it's own hint on this page I actually do not know too many sources for handmade solitaires for refference. Niceice presents such a setting: first on this page. Hope the 0.2 worth helps.
