Hi! I'm really petite and short and it's just so hard to find a perfect wedding dress for me. I usually wear a XS or petite 0. Does anyone know where to find petite wedding dress? Any recommended website? Thanks a lot~

Hi, just went to a store in Greensboro, NC, called Josettes Bridal. They can custom order special measurements that you may want. They measured my bust, waist and hips and got a dress for me. I am typically a 2. It was a Jasmine. I also heard they are having a huge sale this weekend on all discontinued gowns. They are great to deal with.

Most wedding gowns require some sort of alteration. Also, most run at least 1 to 2 sizes smaller than their tag size. So if you normally wear a size 0 then you would probably need a size 2. I don't see many wedding dresses that come smaller than a size 4, but alterations down to a 2 (normal size 0) shouldn't be too difficult. My MIL altered a dress from a size 12 to a size 5, it looked perfect, and she isn't a seamstress. I love the dresses at this site: http://www.sophisticatedlady.us Lynne~ |

Chocoberry, I am a petite size 2 and had no problem with my wedding dress. I just went to the local bridal shop, found the perfect dress, and they altered it without any problems. Lengthwise, they will just trim off the bottom of the dress. When you're trying on dresses, pay attention to the bottom of the dress and confirm with the salesperson that altering the length will not be a problem or will not be too expensive -- depending on the dress, it may be complicated to alter or you might lose some of the detail (i.e., if there is embroidery or beading at the bottom that might need to be cut off, etc.) Good luck!
