Thinking of upgrading my stone before my wedding. I have a 2.4 round brilliant AGS0. I wear size 7. Is there a big difference in size between 3.5 and 4 carats? My stone is a G. Should I go up in color if I get a larger stone? I don't want aany side stones. Thanks,

Half a carat up or down above 3... means very little indeed. It could be burried in the cut completely if you get to compare the right 3.5 and 4 carat rounds. Since you are looking at ideals, that half carat may mean about 0.2mm diameter (from 9.8 to 10mm) - not really much to worry about. IMO, it takes about half a milimeter to have something to talk about at all, that 0.2 can occur easily between tro diamonds of the same weight due to cut alone. Some problem to have Fingers crossed for the upgrade !Ana "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen." [Souren Melikian] |
