So, my DH and I finally took my old engagement center stone to the jeweler to make a pendant out of it. We decided to go with my .54 pear shaped stone to be mounted in a white gold setting with 10 - 2.5mm ceylon sapphires surrounding it. Jeweler said it would be ready last Friday. So, last Friday morning (at jeweler's suggestion) I dropped by with my DH's wedding band to be engraved (we bought him a new one 3 years ago and never got around to having it engraved) and with the new Seiko watch I bought him for his birthday last week to have 3 links taken out of it. Jeweler said he'd have everything ready by 5pm. So at 4:45 he calls to say the watch and ring are done but the pendant isn't quite ready, but Saturday by closing time for sure. I sent DH over to pick up everything on Saturday while I anxiously waited at home for him to return to get a look at my new bauble and the chain he was going to pick out for it. He walks in holding a bag and going on about how all the ladies in the jewelry store were oohing and ahhing over how beautiful the pendant turned out. So, "LET'S SEE IT!!!!" I say. He pulls from the bag...... A beautifully wrapped necklace box!! It seems the ladies in the jewelry store were kind enough to gift wrap it for him and of course he's got a stupid grin on his face knowing that....... ![]() Ugggghh, I've got to wait until Christmas now to get a gander at it!! You know, if I get a razor blade, I bet I could get that sucker open and re-taped without him knowing.

Oh my goodness...how sneaky! You must be DYING! I would say fight the urge to open it before Christmas. Just think of how wonderful and gratifying it will be when you finally get the chance to open it up. Please post pics when you do get it!

Hell, you could unwrap it, open it, and rewrap it with different paper and my old man wouldn't know the difference! You poor thing. ______________________________ |

yeah, well under normal circumstances I could probably WEAR the thing around the house for a month without him noticing either... But, since he is completely without ideas for anything else to get me for Christmas, it is my only present and he feels off the hook this year! ![]() Actually, he's not completely unromantic so I will give him credit for that. He did actually give some enthusiastic imput on the design and since it was my old engagement ring diamond, it is a little more sentimental than the average Christmas present.

Sevens, my sister once unwrapped a skirt from her husband. She tried it on and it didn't fit so she exchanged it for the right size and wrapped it back up. He never knew the difference, lol. pc...The pendant sounds BEAUTIFUL! If you should decide to be sneaky and open it and then re-wrap it, I'd be SHOCKED!! But if you are overcome by evil, be sure you have your digital camera handy before you re-wrap it.
