Not all vendors have Ideal-Scope images of their diamonds, but instead opt to use Firescope or SymmetriScope images instead.

I do understand that the Firescope was the first of the pink/red light reflecting tools, and that the SymmetriScope is the next gerneration machine, and that Gary developed the Image-Scope to give people the option to see basic symmetry and cut information with a simple hand held tool versus a piece of laboratory equipment.

However, I have not seen much, if any, examples of what the differences in the final pictures are.

Can some of the experts post better explainations of the differences and examples of the resulting pictures for these pieces of equipement (and explainations of things we should be looking for in the lab equipement pictures).  It would be really sweet if pictures of the same diamond could be posted with the different equipment (and better yet,  examples of a not so good cut and a fantastic cut).

The FS/SS show a more darkness than the Ideal-scope - the GOG scope appears to be in betwee.
The original FS did not fully light the area above the diamond with pink light.
