Just wanted to share more pictures of beautiful "modern" cushions. This should probably go in the SMTR folder...but I think more might see and enjoy here.
Who says only RBs are brilliant?
(Pix from DBOF on DT)

Quote from Jan at DT:
"Some of the cushion cuts of the past were more like old mine cuts. This is the modern version. These are cut with a high degree of precision and balance of proportions that gives them a mesmerizing attractivness. The faceting pattern is much like a round but more elongated."

mesmerizing attractivness- HELL YA!!!

NICEICE:
"Our cushion cut diamonds are produced to the highest standards and have been graded by the GIA Gem Trade Laboratory (GIA-GTL) as having Excellent Polish & Symmetry which is the highest rating available from GIA Laboratory for these characteristics and is quite difficult to achieve!  It is a difference that is apparent not only to ourselves, but also to customers in our store...  Practically every time we have shown a new customer in our store one of our cushion cut diamonds they have said something like "That's a cushion cut?!?! But I've seen cushion cut diamonds and didn't think that they were this pretty!"

LOL Ana! OK, OK, old fashioned stones are nice too !!!   But I would like to see that stone face up, without the ' glamor shot ' photography

Yeah... it's a pitty no one cuts the Old Mine model with modern optics. The cut has so much charm

Now you're cheating with the H&A cushion. LOL!
Anyway, I'll take my 64.1 depth cushion over a 72 depth H&A cushion any day!

Oh Ana- I love that one setting with the baguettes.  Are those called "tapered"?

Whatever happened to the Baguette?  I'm starting to lean toward that setting.  Good ole' traditional.

Hey MMM- Nice Thread about Princess Cuts-  Oh, I mean Rounds!
