My cousin bought a ring from a jeweller with small diamonds and 18k gold, she then about 2 weeks later saw a ring in the same jeweller she liked better to asked to trade in the first ring which they agreed to. However, when she came in with the ring they said that she could not as it had been worn, she says she had never worn the ring only tried it on about 15-20 times in the house. Anyway they eventually let her change rings. My question is this would a ring show wear from just being tried on, I would not have thought so. Would hands being dry this time of year with the cold weather making them hard and scratchy be able to make a ring look like it had been worn? I wonder how good the polish was on their ring to begin with. |

I bet the jeweler just assumed the ring had been worn since your cousin already had the ring for two weeks (usually we start wearing our stuff right after we receive it, right? ) as I doubt the ring would have shown wear AT ALL if she had just played around with it. Glad she was able to exchange it.
