Being new to Pricesope I have learned SO MUCH about diamonds - enough to be dangerous!! What a GREAT site. Ok...I need help now! My girlfriend and I have been to just about every legitimate jewelry store in Atlanta (and other cities) and have finally agreed (amazing huh? ) on an beautiful setting that fits her petite hand (size 3.75 finger). Now the bad part! The setting is found at Tiffanys. It is part of their new engagement ring Legacy Collection. Simply described, it is a 1.12 ct round diamond (shallowly set) flushly surrounded by very very small pave diamonds. The platinum band (2mm?) has 7 square diamonds on each side of the main setting. Lastly the structure holding the main diamond has very small pave diamonds surrounding the bottom of the structure (not the band). The ring lists for $21,230....EEEKSSS. The setting is beautiful on her hand but I know based on everything i've learned here that I would be paying a huge premium for this setting because the main diamond probably isn't even a $10,000 diamond. Is there a way to get someone to replicate this setting at a much more reasonable price? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks..... Note: Pricescope user Treysar has a very similar ring for which I am looking!! http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=18526&forumID=8&catID=&search=1&searchstring= here is exactly what the sales rep wrote Art Deco 1.12 GVVS1 14 SQ D1 .49 ct RD .19 ct $21,230 St(?) 51000 |

Hi and welcome! Are you sure it was a round and not a cushion-shaped stone? We had a couple of threads recently on what I *think* you're describing: the Tiffany Legacy. If you do a quick search I remember someone saying they'd seen something similar in a store in NYC.

You must have a good memory! Tiffanys does sell a very similar ring with a cushion shaped stone - the one we liked had a round diamond but the settings were very similar. i will look for threads. thanks.

Hi Ozam...those Tiffany rings are gorgeous, aren't they? Gorgeous prices too. Anyway, how about checking out Ritani's Endless Love collection...they have pave around the center stone and down the shank, and you can choose from different cuts. Here's the link... Ritani's Endless Love edited because it's early and I can't spell.

You also might want to try the custom jeweller Leon Megé. His website is artofplatinum.com, and he designs lots of beautiful stuff with pavé around it.

Date: 11/29/2004 10:50 9 AMAuthor: ozam thanks so much for your suggestions! is it possible to have someone replicate Tiffany's setting or is that approach impractical? Many people have rings custom made. The trick is to find someone you trust, that will do a wonderful job and be excellent quality. I don't know if jewelers will remake the Tiffany ring exactly...there are probably copywrite laws that they don't want to deal with. I'm sure actual jewelers here can give you a more detailed answer. There are rings out there also that look very similiar to Ritani and Leon Mege. I've seen a post here that describes what to look for and what to ask when creating a custom ring...link anyone?
