Hello All, Just wanted to relate my experience in dealing w/ Whiteflash. Denise was extremely helpful and delivered as promised - an eye clean SI1 and a strong blue flouro w/ no clouding- its beautiful! I highly recommend WhiteFlash for price and service. Here is the stone I purchased: http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-695991.htm I took the stone to an independent appraiser who has appraised the stone at over twice what I paid for it. Thanks for everyone's help! |

Congrats, of course. Just curious...how have you handled/will you handle having the diamond set. Really, I'm curious about the order of operations you've navigated or will navigate. Did you have the diamond first sent to an appraiser, and after will have it set (and by who?), or did you first have Whiteflash set it, and then sent to an appraiser. Best wishes. Hi Ira, I had the stone set by Whiteflash and then took it to the appraiser. Wanted to do it this way because I'm working inside a tight time frame. Any reservations for having it done this way? Thanks!

My own (real world) view.... relatively...yes...and also, that's how I did it, with somewhat similar circumstances. I think you've used what's regarded here as a trusted vendor...a vendor I'd be likely to want to turn to first, from what I've read here, in initiating this process again. Given your very real world circumstances, I don't personally think you should have done anything differently (while noting, by my question, that one might optimize, all things being equal, by taking the slower route, having the appraiser analyze the stone first, back to the vendor for setting, back to the appraiser for final appraisal, and then to you....though real world, maybe nobody does this!). Very best wishes, Ira (Ruffles have Ridges) Z. |
