Hi folks, I'm a new Jubilee seeker who would like some opinions on a jubilee I've seen on GOG's website: http://www.goodoldgold.com/jubilee_0_95ct_i_i1.htm Not sure how to post pics, but that website has all the diamond's info. It's I in color and I1 in clarity. The table percentages, depth %, crown height, etc all look pretty good. While I am fine with the I color (I have been looking in the HIJ range for color due to price) what concerns me is the I1 clarity with the wisps on the edges of the table (not sure the correct term for them). I had been looking in the SI1 and SI2 range for clarity originally. Is this a type of diamond that I should shy away from? Or is this the type of diamond that will give me a great bang for my buck? It seems like since the inclusions are away from the table, they will be less noticably, however I am afraid they will just stand out too much. I would be mounting this in a Vatche X Prong. Thanks for all your help, I greatly appreciate it! |

I would contact them and ask them how visible the inclusions are. Good Old Gold has a good reputation so I'd expect them to be honest.

I believe this diamond has been sold already. I called asking about it myself, and was told it had been sold but you should call GOG just to verify this.

I think you will have to ask GOG if it is "eye clean", but from the pic on their site it does not look it.

THanks for the responses everybody! I'm not too worried that its sold, I'm try to get an idea if that type of inclusion is something I can live with. Being eye clean would be great although I'd be fine with "not very noticable". Since it is rated an I1, I'm assuming I would be able to see it if I wanted to. I'm more curious about that type of inclusion compared with the little carbon dots that I've seen, and how noticable that type of inclusion is in regular light.

That one was a happy I1 - no black inclusions (arguably the most visible of the bunch) , nothing going on under the table and the main blob rightly placed to end up mostly under a prong. ![]() Ana "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen." [Souren Melikian] |

Good point, it is good that the inclusion is off to the side. I guess when dealing with I1 diamonds it all really depends on the location and type of inclusion.

I bought an I1 Jubilee. I never considered it until I saw how clean Patty's stones were. It has a white feather off to side at the girdle. I can't see under normal conditions. I can see it when I really look for it, and I know where to look. For I1s it really depends upon the stone. I think I got a bargain. My appraiser graded it as SI. You can see it here

Wow, that I1 looks great. That's the type of rock I want to get, just a great looking stone regardless of its specs. Definitely sounds like a bargain.

In a bright sparkly stone like the Jubilee such an inclusion will be VERY hard to see in normal light, and I can say that without even going to look at the pictures as I know how hard white to white-ish inclusions are to see when they are not back lit. The best advice you have received though is to call Jonathon and ask him about the stone, he will tell it like it is. Wink Wink Jones |
